The year 1993
In 1993 the first version of the FontLab font editor was released for Microsoft Windows. It was originally developed by SoftUnion Ltd. of St. Petersburg, Russia, by Yuri Yarmola, and was sold in 1992 to Pyrus North America who restructured as FontLab Ltd.
The most popular font released in 1993 was Funhouse, designed by Allen Mercer.
