AlphaType
AlphaType Corporation was a family-owned company based in Niles, Illinois, USA. It was founded by Al and Beatrice Friedman in the mid-1960s, and made high quality but inexpensive phototypesetters for the advertising industry. The type library contained several original designs, largely by Vladimir Andrich. In 1981 AlphaType was acquired by H. Berthold AG.
