Phill Grimshaw (1950-1998)

Phill Grimshaw was a British type designer who developed an interest in type design while studying design at the Royal College of Art in London between 1972 and 1975.

He created many original typefaces while working at Letraset, where he had the professional support and friendship of Letraset's Manager of Typographic Development, Colin Brignall.

His last work included several commissions based on the work of the designers Roger Excoffon and Charles Rennie Mackintosh. He died at the age of 48 following a long illness.
