Jim Richardson
Jim Richardson was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1975, he studied graphic design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and worked at a number of Scottish design agencies before returning to England in 2000 to form his own design agency.
Jim's interest in typeface design began whilst working in Scotland, and in 1998 he helped found free font foundry FontMonster In 2003 Jim founded Union, a commercial type foundry, and along with Dutch designer Max Kisman launched Building Letters, a charity design magazine which raises funds for orphans in Africa and India.
He now runs the successful design agency SUMO Design, with offices in Newcastle and Edinburgh, and has pretty much given up font design.
