Charles Ricketts (1866-1932)
A versatile English artist, illustrator, author, and printer who, with his partner Charles Shannon, founded a magazine called The Dial, which had five issued from 1889 to 1897, and the Vale Press, named after their house in Chelsea, London.
He designed a typeface, Vale, for use by the press.
