Paulo W

Paulo W is a Gaúcho (Brazilian southerner), with interests in multiple areas, including poetry (he has published a digital book - Magical Book - on the Internet) and graphic design.

In the early 1990s he became one of the first Brazilian artists to produce and expose works generated on digital techniques. Such contact with computers led him to decide that his life would be devoted to graphic design, and he followed a career as a graphic designer, successful in the profession until he discovered typography, a real turning point in his life. He is self-taught, and never studied design at high-schools or Brazilian universities.

He lives at Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, with his wife - a typographer too - and seven (it's true) cats. His second love is collecting old rare books.

His most well-known fonts are probably Grave Ornamental, Soft Fleurons, Erased Typewriter 2, TTF Tattoef, and Swirlies.
