Laura Meseguer is a graphic designer and type designer living and working in Barcelona. She was a partner in Cosmic design studio until 2005, when she opened her own studio, where she develops projects related to identity, editorial and typeface design. She is a member of Type-Ø-Tones, a Barcelona group of type designers which runs its own independent foundry.
In 2003-2004, she took a year off from her regular work to study type design at the post-graduate course 'Type]Media' of the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague, the Netherlands. Rumba Small, the typeface she designed as part of this course, was selected in the TDC Type Design Competition 2005, and as one of "Our Favourite Typefaces of 2006" by typographica.org.
She has participated in exhibitions and conferences in Spain and Europe. She is Professor of Typography in the Escola Elisava and Escola Eina and a member of AtypI.
