Dado Queiroz

Dado Queiroz was born in Curitiba, Brazil, in 1980, and graduated in Graphic Design in 2003. He has collected two awards during his student years - one of them including entries from all Latin America.

His graphic style is deeply influenced by the work usually related to the 90s, where type plays an expressive role, while the overall composition is balanced and elegant. The awareness of tradition only benefits the transgressive aspect of his work, bringing a sense of structure to the apparent mess. He uses asymmetry and graphic freedom to strike harmony and energy, not shock.

In 2004, Dado founded EstudioCrop, a design studio that - after partnership with friends Anderson Maschio, Roberto Janz, and later on, Renan Molin - gathered international appraisal in the form of awards and exhibitions. After the studio's break up, Dado went back at freelancing, and currently focuses on graphic, type and motion design. His work - old and new - can be seen at www.dado.estudiocrop.com.br. Besides his activities in graphic design and related areas, Dado also occasionally writes design articles. His unique way to deal with intransigent clients on the phone has sprung many good stories and a few money losses. Generally, however, they usually do get along in the end.
