Andrea Tinnes
Andrea Tinnes is a type and graphic designer based in Berlin. Her design practice is focused on client-based as well as self-initiated projects. Through her own label, Typecuts, she publishes as well as promotes all her type designs. Some of her fonts are also available through the font label Primetype.
In addition to her design practice Andrea works as Adjunct Professor at the Bergen National Academy of the Arts in Norway where she has been teaching courses in type and typography since 2003.
Andrea's work has been featured in several publications, such as Graphic Design for the 21st century, étapes: and EYE magazine and several exhibitions including the 22annual 100Show and Earthquakes and Aftershocks. She holds awards from the American Center for Design as well as red dot.
She has a degree in visual communication from the FH Rheinland-Pfalz Mainz and a MFA in graphic design from the California Institute of the Arts.
