Born in Munich, Germany in 1964, Jochen Hasinger began his higher education, with three years of study in Stuttgart between 1985 and 1988. Then in 1992 he resumed his education, but this time in Switzerland. He studied typography with the renowned teachers Wolfgang Weingart and André Guertler at the Schule für Gestaltung in Basel.
He has worked for various advertising agencies in both Frankfurt and Hamburg as a typographer and a graphic designer, and consequently has been described as an advertising supremo. Currently, he lives and works in Frankfurt am Main. Since 2003, he has run his own label, Typeimage.
