Maurizio Osti
Maurizio Osti, artist, teacher, graphic and Web designer, was born in 1944 in Sasso Marconi, a small village outside Bologna, Italy. He lives and works in Bologna, where he teaches 'Special Graphic Techniques' at the Accademia di Belle Arti.
As an artist he has participated in many national and international exhibitions including, Linee della ricerca artistica in Italia 1960-80 Roma 1981; Undicesima Quadriennale, Roma 1986; Arte e Alchimia, XLII Biennale di Venezia 1986; and Poesia Totale, Mantova 1998. He is Art Director and designer of various Web sites such as www.oncologia.ausl.ra.it, www.normeinrete.it, and www.unipd.it.
Maurizio Osti has long been interested in the relationship between letters and meaning and for him designing type is like giving an individual voice to the printed text. A recent example is his creative version of Rimbaud's 'Illumination' using his font FF Folk, (Pazzini Editore, 2004).
