Karel Dyrynk (1876-1949)
Dyrynk was an important figure in the Czech book arts field in the early 20th century. He was director of the government printing works (Státní tiskárna) and editor of the Czech journal Typografia, and wrote two influential books: Rules of Typesetting (Pravidla sazby), and The Book Beautiful (Krásná Kniha).
With Vojtech Preissig he helped to define and elevate Czech book arts from a state of almost non-existence to international respect.
