Gustavo Piqueira
Gustavo Piqueira (São Paulo, Brazil, 1972), has won a number of awards, including Brazilian biennial exhibitions and international events such as the London Design Awards and the iF Design Awards in Hannover. His work has been published in major magazines in Brazil and abroad, such as in the German Novum and British Creative Review, and has been exhibited in Japan and the United States.
Piqueira is also a typographer, with some of his alphabets - Cabourg and Bizu - distributed by the type foundry T26 in Chicago. He teaches typography, is the author of 'Coadjuvantes' (Martins Fontes. 2006), 'Morte aos Papagaios' (Atelie/2004), 'Gill Sans' (Rosari, 2004) and co-organizer of the catalogue Brazilian Digital Fonts (ADG/Rosari, 2004). He was director of the Brazilian Graphic Designers' Association for four years, from 2000 to 2004. He also illustrates children’s publications, designs book covers and is a partner in the company Rex Design (www.rexnet.com.br), in São Paulo, where he lives.
