Elizabeth Caslon (1730-1795)

Elizabeth Caslon (née Cartlich) was born in London in 1730. In 1751 she married the typefounder William Caslon II, and they had two sons, William and Henry. When her husband died Elizabeth and her sons each inherited one third of the typefounding business which she continued, trading as Elizabeth Caslon & Sons.
