Michael Kohnke
Mike maintains Typebox, LLC as a collaborative of talents who provide innovative map, graphic design, and type design services. Mike draws from his passion for creating type, unique identity designs, information design, and cartography to fortify Typebox as a developer of fonts, brands, explanation graphics, and map projects.
Mike graduated with honors in Geography from Western Michigan University, specializing in Cartographic Techniques and Urban Planning. He also holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree with honors in Graphic Design from the same institution. He earned his MFA in Graphic Design from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in 2000. Amongst his most known typefaces are TX Manifesto, NineVolt, and Toolshop.
