Bas Jacobs
Bas Jacobs was born 1976 in Wanssum, the Netherlands. He studied visual communication at the art academy ABK in Maastricht and during 1999/2000 he followed the post-graduate course typography and type design at the KABK in Den Haag, the Netherlands.
Together with Akiem Helmling and Sami Kortemäki, he founded Underware in 1999. Underware is a (typo)graphic designstudio which is specialized in designing and producing typefaces. The company is based in Den Haag, Amsterdam, and Helsinki, and its first two retail sale typefaces are Dolly and Sauna.
