Joana Correia
Joana Correia was born in 1979 in Porto, Portugal. She studied Architecture and Graphic Design. Since 2011 she has been focused in Type Design after she graduated from the MA in Typeface Design in the University of Reading. Before this, she worked as an architect and left it to pursue Graphic Design. She has taught Type Design since 2011 at ESAD in Matosinhos.
She has developed typefaces for various companies like Google Fonts, FontYou, and Indian Type Foundry. Because of her curiosity for sanskrit she learned how to design Devanagari typefaces and also other Indian scripts. She co-founded the Ndiscover type foundry where she will be publishing new typefaces. She lives in Porto with her lovely shiba anu.
