Friedrich Peter
Friedrich Peter was born in Dresden, Germany, and studied at the Hochschule für bildende Künste, Berlin, studying lettering and graphic design as a post-graduate. He emigrated to Canada with his wife Christine in 1957 and worked as a freelance designer. He also taught at the Vancouver School of Art, and the University of British Columbia School of Architecture. He held several solo exhibitions of painting, calligraphy, and medallic art, and designed commemorative postage stamps, coins, and medals for Canadian events.
