Denise Koehler, a self-taught font designer and co-founder of Deniart Systems (with husband Jan Koehler), was mesmerized by ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, a writing system that mystified scholars for hundreds of years with its complexity and beauty.

After significant research she developed and launched Deniart's first product, Egyptian Hieroglyphics Volume One in 1993. From there, Deniart continued to expand on the Hieroglyphics series, but that was just the beginning as they continued their quest to bring ancient writing systems to life. True to its motto "Fonts for the Ages", the library gradually grew to include fonts based on many such ancient and esoteric writing systems (for example Aztec & Mayan pictograms, Masonic Writing, etc.) as well as other glyph-based communication symbols like zodiacs and alchemy.

Today, Deniart has a library of over 70 fonts & font families, expanding into new areas of typography and imagery. Deniart's fonts are used by many academic, advertising institutions and publicists - for example in such publications as "The Sacred Tradition of Ancient Egypt" and "The Sacred Magic of Ancient Egypt" by Rosemary Clark.
