David Sagorski

Born in Kansas, USA, David Sagorski moved to southern Florida to study at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. After completing his studies he moved to New York. Prior to working in type design, he worked on oil rigs and pipelines near Louisiana. He made the career change after friends admired his hand lettering and artwork, encouraging him to pursue type design. He has subsequently worked for ITC and Letraset.

He gets inspiration from vintage clip art, Aztec figures, and children's illustrations, as well as the styles and motifs of Miro, Picasso, and Van Gogh. He was inspired by the work of Joan Miro to create Bang. However, Dancin' has a more prosaic source; it is based on his own style of handwriting.
