Dirk Uhlenbrock
Dirk Uhlenbrock was born in Essen, Germany, in 1964, and studied Communication Design in 1986 at BUGH Wuppertal. After working as art director for over eight years in three multimedia companies, he left to set up his own graphic design studio together with his brother Knut, signalgrau.com, in his hometown Essen.
Back in 1998 he created the free font source "eyesaw" to give away his typographical experiments, which has been followed by the website fontomas.com. After developing fonts for several companies he is trying to build up his own professional font line which will be published via his own foundry called Typetype.
