John Hersey
John Hersey is a Canadian living in California. He attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and now lives in San Francisco's Bay area.
"I was attracted to font design to enable the automation of my own handwriting. Although I am known as a digital illustrator the fonts I have made are rather handmade looking. It's kind of ironical I guess. I teach at CCA in San Francisco and am well known for pioneering computer illustration."
His most popular fonts are the Blockhead family and Thingbat. He runs an illustration and design business called Duckface.
