Jim Wasco
Jim Wasco has been practising calligraphy and hand lettering since he was old enough to hold a pen. His father was a graphic designer and photographer and taught his young son calligraphy. Jim believes typography and lettering is in his blood, and it was inevitable that he became a type designer.
He ran his own freelance business, specialising in hand lettering, in the San Francisco Bay area. Giving that up, he joined the typographic staff at Adobe Systems, and stayed there for 13 years. He is currently the manager of font production at Agfa Monotype in Palo Alto.
He is married with three children and lives in Pacifica on the south San Francisco coast.
