Rudolf Wolf studied at the university in Frankfurt am Main and completed a Ph. D.
From 1922 to 1942 he worked as advertising manager for Stempel in Frankfurt am Main, where he was responsible for type design. In 1930 he designed the popular slab-serif typeface Memphis.
