Ramiro Espinoza

Ramiro Espinoza (1969) became interested in type design when he was a student at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral in Santa Fe, Argentina. After graduating, between 1998 and 2000, he taught Typography at Universidad de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires, Argentina) . In the same period he worked as well as editorial designer in the Magazines Department of La Nación newspaper and from 1999 to 2002 as interface designer in the financial sector (Banco Galicia).

In 2003 he moved to The Netherlands and studied type design at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague. Since then he has been a contributor to design magazines (Codex, Tipográfica), researched vernacular Dutch lettering and worked in numerous freelance assignments for FontShop International, Feliciano Type Foundry, and ShinnType.

In 2007 he founded Retype to market his typefaces. At the moment he is part time teacher at the Design Academy Eindhoven.
