Eliza Gwendalyn
New York native Eliza Gwendalyn studied graphic and advertising design at Savannah College of Art & Design from 2005-2009. After her studies she briefly worked in the advertising world until she left to form her own full service design studio specialising in modern calligraphy, graphic and website design. Eliza combines a lifelong passion for type, hand-lettering and illustration to create unique embellished custom designs for weddings, events and corporate clients. Eliza made her font line debut with Great Lakes Lettering in 2016. Curating a 7-style family called ‘Petunia’ after her coined modern calligraphy style she is known for.
As a calligraphy and graphic artist in the events industry, Eliza has had the honor of working with numerous notable clients including: Kleinfeld’s Paper, GOOP+Valentino MRKET, Oprah’s O Magazine Circle of Friends, Facebook, Bloomberg, Birchbox, Boots USA No. 7, Burberry, Crate+Barrel, Style Me Pretty, Southern Weddings, Wedding Wire, Panera Bread, Pottery Barn, Cotton On + TypoShop, Acura, and Ann Taylor. She appeared on BET’s About The Business as well as providing her hand-lettering to the Bravo TV show Blood Sweat & Heels and the wedding of Olympic Gold medallist and Dancing With The Stars finalist Shawn Johnson.
When Eliza isn’t working on client projects, she focuses her time on developing new calligraphy styles & fonts, building her typography portfolio, and working on her new business venture launching in October 2016, Studioways.
