Eben Sorkin
Eben Sorkin was born in 1967 and studied Japanese Culture at Hampshire College in MA, USA. He worked in the video games industry at Brøderbund and Maxis before freelancing as a graphic designer as Eyebytes. In 2009 he took an MA with distinction in Type Design from the University of Reading.
He now runs Sorkin Type Co. in Boston MA and is member of the ATypI board. Sorkin Type makes both custom and retail typefaces. Sorkin Type also works with clients optimize type for use on the web and in Microsoft Office and to solve other technical problems. His best know typefaces are Merriweather and Merriweather Sans; improved licensable versions are now available.
Sorkin Type has released a variety of typefaces into the Google web fonts system most of which were designed in collaboration with other type designers.
