Paul J. Lloyd

Paul Lloyd was born in the English Midlands in 1967, but now lives in Western Australia. His first steps in typeface design where taken in the mid-1980s when he (successfully) set about programming his Commodore 64 home computer to generate large-scale blackletter banners on its dot matrix printer.

Throughout the 1990s he developed an extensive range of freeware typefaces, and after seeing a number of these in commercial use on book covers, in magazines, and on television, he set about launching his commercial type foundry, Greater Albion Typefounders. Greater Albion launched publicly in 2007 and has since then built an extensive catalogue of commercial typefaces. The most popular families to date include Bromwich and Vectis.
