Emily Spadoni
Emily Spadoni is an artist and designer who comes from a family of antique and salvage dealers, artisans, and toolmakers. She studied pre-college and college at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), and earned an additional degree in Fine Woodworking & Furniture Design from the Worcester Center for Professional Crafts.
After working in restaurants, and a bookkeeping job, she learnt to draw fonts with her mouse, and submitted them to a free-fonts website. People were actually downloading the fonts, and wanted to pay for commercial use of them. The hobby has now turned into a niche (and income!) in font creation, not to mention, invaluable friendships around the world.
