Joffre LeFevre
Joffre LeFevre was born in Muskegon, MI in 1945 and studied Fine Arts, Illustration at Kendall College of Art and Design and Fine Arts, Graphics at Grand Valley State University. He was then a principal type designer and type product designer for Compugraphic/Agfa Corporation for twenty years.
In 1991, he founded Aboutype, Inc., a type design studio and custom digitizing service. Clients include Merriam-Webster Inc., Arnold Worldwide/Volkswagen of America, American Greeting Corporation, Ladies Home Journal/More Magazine, Mullen/Speedvision, and Bose Corporation.
Aboutype recently published a small collection of its work through Bitstream's Myfonts. When not designing, LeFevre can be found in his workshop perfecting his woodworking skills.
