Oldřich Menhart

A Czechoslovakian calligrapher, type designer and typographer. From 1911 to 1914 he studied typesetting and typography in Prague. From 1922 to 1929 worked at the Staatsdruckerei Prag. From 1923 to 1925 he also worked as a teacher at the typographical Fachschule in Prague. From 1929 he worked freelance. In addition to designing books and calligraphic work Menhart also designed pamphlets for type foundries, including for Bauersche foundry in Frankfurt and for the Monotype Corporation in London.
