Max Vox (1900-1974)
Samuel Theodore Monod changed his name for politico-religious reasons to Max Vox. Born in Normandy, he came to typography via illustration, like most French typographers.
He was a founder of Ecole de Lure - a summer school that became an important international meeting place for designers.
"My only love is paper - printed paper. I eat it, I drink it, I dream of it: in it I find my best failures and my worst successes."
