Bo Berndal
Born in 1924 in Stockholm, Sweden, Berndal is a prolific type designer. He began his career as a Linotype machine operator, then graduated to a type designer and font pattern maker. He has also worked as a book designer, calligrapher, author, lecturer, magazine art director, trademark specialist, and teacher of typography.
He subsequently co-owned BIGG, a Swedish advertising agency, and Hålet, a gallery dedicated to the typographic arts.
After he retired he continues to design type as a hobby, and took commissions from museums, advertising agencies, and companies. He died in 2013 at the age of 88.
