Bob McGrath
Bob McGrath was born in Chiswick, UK in 1944. He attended both Farnham and Guildford Art Schools. After a stint in the R&B field as a singer (a common pursuit for that generation of ex-art schoolers ), he relocated to Toronto, Canada in 1966 to become an art director in the advertising business.
After a spell back in the UK in design groups he returned further west to the Pacific coast where he now lives in both La Conner, WA, and Vancouver, BC. After many more Advertising Agencies, he formed a TV production company.
In 2001 Bob published the definitive and award winning discography of Black Music labels, The R&B Indies, and is currently working on a much expanded second edition. Typefaces designed along the way include: Albatross, Elefont, Roman Script (URW), EF Springfield, Steinbeck, and Seagull Light.
