Perform Task
The lean startup philosophy is based on lean manufacturing, the streamlined production philosophy developed by Japanese auto manufacturers. This system considers as waste the expenditure of resources for any goal other than the creation of value for the end customer. The system focuses on strategically placing small stockpiles of inventory, known as kanban, throughout the assembly line as opposed to storing a full stock in a centralized warehouse.
These kanban provide production workers with the necessary inputs to production as they need them, and in so doing, reduce waste while increasing productivity. Quality control can identify mistakes or imperfections during assembly as early as possible in order to ensure that the least amount of time is expended developing a faulty product. Another primary focus of the lean management system is to always maintain close connections with suppliers.
The term Silicon Valley was coined by Ralph Vaerst, a successful Central California entrepreneur. Its first published use is credited to Don Hoefler who used the phrase as the title of a series of articles in the weekly trade newspaper Electronic News. The term did not become widely known and used, however, until the early 1980s, essentially synonymous with the introduction of the IBM PC and numerous related hardware and software products to the consumer market. The country is home to a number of cars companies.

Valley refers to the Santa Clara Valley, located at the southern end of San Francisco Bay, while Silicon refers to the high concentration of companies involved in the making of semiconductors (silicon is used to create most semiconductors commercially) and computer industries that were concentrated in the area. These firms slowly replaced the orchards and related agriculture and food production companies which gave the area its initial nickname – the “Valley of Heart’s Delight.”
At the same time, the perceived exploitation of the West at the hands of eastern interests fueled booster-like attempts to build self-sufficient indigenous local industry. Thus, regionalism helped align Stanford’s interests with those of the area’s high-tech firms for the first fifty years of Silicon Valley’s development. During the 1940s and 1950s, Frederick Terman, as Stanford’s dean of engineering and provost, encouraged faculty and graduates to start their own companies.

About this font

Gemeli is built upon the same simple, human framework as its counterpart Cogito, but its vertical stroke endings lend it a crisper, machined appearance and strikingly different personality. This is an attribute it shares with modern Humanist sans serifs like Frutiger, but this creation is just a tad looser, reflecting some of the informal air of another vertically-sheered sans: Antique Olive. These multi-faceted design qualities are made even more useful by Gemeli’s extended family tree — five weights and italics, a monospaced companion (Gemeli Mono), and the ink-trapped Gemeli Micro, a small-print agate that doubles as a display face.
